Why CARW:
Even though the State of Wisconsin and Milwaukee County have issued Emergency Declarations, a Federal Declaration has not yet been made. The Federal Declaration would allow for FEMA funding to flow to the State.
–> “We’re focused on maximizing our impact—helping as many people as possible during this critical time,” said Jenna Maguire, Chair of the CARW Board of Directors.
–> “Commercial REALTORS care deeply about residents impacted by flooding because strong communities are the foundation of strong markets—when people are displaced, businesses suffer too. Supporting recovery helps both families and the local economy get back on their feet,” said Kevin Schmoldt, CARW Past Chair of the Board of Directors
–> “The REALTORS Relief Foundation is critical for immediate response in delivering national dollars to local communities where it is needed most,” said Tracy Johnson, CARW CEO and President.
Facts about the Flood:
The August 2025 floods — considered a 1,000-year event — devastated Southeast Wisconsin. Thousands of homes were damaged or destroyed, tens of millions were lost in infrastructure, and massive wastewater overflows occurred. Milwaukee County experienced the heaviest residential impacts, while Waukesha County faced widespread residential and commercial property losses along with millions in public infrastructure costs. Other counties were also greatly affected and are awaiting relief.
CARW, with nearly 1,000 members, reached out to the Emergency Management Offices in Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties which were disproportionately impacted by the storms. Devastation in these areas impact the entire region, and commerce statewide.

• Infrastructure: ~$34 million in damage.
• Sewer Overflow: 5.14 billion gallons untreated wastewater released.
